Sisters of the Society of the Divine VocationsAbout the Vocationist Sisters | Contact the Sisters
The Sisters of the Society of the Divine Vocations, more commonly referred to as The Vocationist Sisters, is a Congregation of Catholic Sisters founded by Fr. Justin Russolillo in the year 1921. The Vocationist Sisters presently serve God’s people in Italy, France, Brazil, Argentina, United States, the Philippines, India and Nigeria. Their field of work is: apostolate in the parishes, schools and missions aimed at identifying and guiding young people who seem to show signs of divine call to consecrated life. The Vocationist Sisters take the simple vows of poverty, chastity and obedience. They believe in and practice a strong and steady community life and wear a religious habit. The Sisters, in addition to their work in the Vocationaries run by the Vocationist Fathers, (the Vocationary is a Seminary or a Preliminary where students are accepted free of charge and are assisted in discerning their vocation), serve in the apostolate in parishes, schools and missions. Wherever they go and in whatever they do, they address the same vocational objectives and use the same methods. They manage to be constantly surrounded by children, young boys and girls and teach them catechism, read them the biographies of the saints, pray and sing with them. The Sisters display their particular vocation especially in the organization of vocation-oriented retreats, in the direct counseling and guidance courses for youngsters, in the preparation of vocational exhibits and in the promotion of conferences aimed at helping souls to make generous decision and wise choices.
